Societé Belge de librairie, Bruxelles, 1841. In-4 p. (mm. 288x230), tela coeva (con aloni e picc. manc. al dorso), pp. 131, ben illustrato da 78 tavv. f.t. in litografia, a doppia pag. (e anche più volte ripieg.), di cui 1 bella veduta relativa al tunnel di North Chureh della ferrovia Londra-Birmingham. Le tavole raffigurano: schemi e lavori di ingegneria ferroviaria, progetti di viadotti e ponti ferroviari.<br>L'opera consiste in una puntualissima descrizione dei lavori eseguiti per la costruzione di ferrovie in Inghilterra e, in particolare, la Londra-Birmingham, quella di Greenwich, il raccordo Leeds-Selby. "Prima traduzione francese" di questo importante studio.<br>Samuel Charles Brees, artista e ingegnere britannico vissuto dal 1810 al 1865, fu attivo come ingegnere ferroviario sia in Inghilterra che in Nuova Zelanda, terra cui dedicò anche diversi volumi.<br>Esemplare ben conservato.
