The present collection depicts the architecture and interior designs of Château de Malmaison situated in the French commune Rueil-Malmaison west of Paris. In 1799 Joséphine de Beauharnais bought the house for herself and her husband General Napoléon Bonaparte, the future Napoléon I of France. At the time the house was bought Napoléon Bonaparte was campaigning in Egypt and Joséphine de Beauharnais bought the house for expected money he would bring back. At first Napoléon was furious over the great sum spent on the castle but eventually Château de Malmaison would bring great happiness to the Bonapartes.

Paris, Au Masque Devambez, 1921, 30x40cm, en feuilles sous chemise cartonnée à lacets, pièce de titre, 27p., 40 planches 40 planches comprenant 44 illustrations imprimées en héliotypie. Portrait de Bonaparte par Isabey en frontispice. La chemise présente un manque de papier suite à une mouillure qui a également altéré marginalement les premières et dernières planches.
