Containing a total of 33 quitets by Boccherini and 6 by Pleyel. The volumes have a page numbering in ink in a contemporary hand. ( each vol. ca. 140 pp). Title and score all copper engraved. In-folio format , 33 x 25 cm. Bound in uniform contemporary full vellum, with large leather title label on front cover. The name of the ( first ?) owner has been erased from the cover. Bindings a bit worn and dustsoiled. Outer margins of some volumes damaged with small loss of material. Inside with the usual thumbing and dustsoiling. The upper outer margin of some volumes with some marginal water damage ( never reaching the engraved score). The violino primo part contains also the catalogue ( 6 of 8 ) either from Veniers or Boyer ( essentially the same as Veniers ) . With all the title pages ( except for Opera XVII of the viola part). Items [2] , [3] , and [7] are most probably first editions. Items [1] , [4] , printed by Boyer-Le Muet are most probably second imprints from the first editions. It is known that in 1784 Mad. Le Muet acquired Veniers' plates ( Krummel & Sadie - Music Printing and Publishing pp. 319). The collection must have been bound around 1787. Unfortunately we were unable to decipher the erased name of the first owner."
