Another 25 issues were published (not present here). Leading French art periodical from the second world war period. Louis Réau explains in his preface to the first issue that ''La Revue de l'Art Ancien et Moderne'' had stopped publication before the war and that ''La Gazette des Beaux Arts'' has suspended publication. The caption of the first issue reads; ''71e année - Nouvelle Série N° 1''. In issue 21 (30 Mai 1941) this is changed without explanation to '' 78e année''. Well illustrated periodical which follows closely the Parisian art scene during the war."‎
