En 1826, le dramaturge Jacques Ancelot effectue un voyage en Russie durant lequel il écrit différentes lettres à son amis M. Xavier Saintines dans lesquels il lui fait part de ses observations. Celles-ci seront publiées un an plus tard. Ancelot s'inspirera également de son voyage pour écrire son roman Olga ou l'Orpheline Russe qui sera édité en 1828. Ex libris manuscrit de "Louis.
