1845-1855 2 volumes (complete). [10], 54, xl, [6] p., 83 lithographed pls (many partly coloured), roy. 4to, contemporary half calf (somewhat worn, especially corners and outer ends spine, front cover detached). Some slight browning as always in this work probably due to paper quality (but less than in other copies I handled, and no foxing as often is the case). One plate with some soiling in upper blank margin. Library stamps of the Royal Microscopical Society of London.The text is much more extensive than the 58 pages would suggest as it is largely incorporated as unnumbered explanatory text with each plate.

Bound in uniform dark blue cloth with gilt and blindtooled decoration on covers and spines, top edges gilt, two spines very slightly damaged (small tear) but a very nice set. Exhaustive study on the British Tunicata, a subspecies of the Mollusc Family.
