Complete copy. Bound in contemporary red roan, with raised spine with gilt title, boards covered with marbled paper, marbled endpapers. modern red cloth. Binding with minimal traces of use, first two pages with minor foxing spots, further a clean and stainless interior. A fine copy. Fine complete copy , in the original first edition, of this periodical covering the Paris world exhibition of 1889. This exhibition saw the erection of the Eiffel tower. Some text contributions are by famous French authors such as Alexandre Dumas fils, J.K. Huysmans, H. Lavedan, Guy de Maupassant, Victor Champier, Théodore de Banville. The out of text plates are often in photo engraving ( héliogravure) , also in chromothithography. The frontispiece plate (not mentionned in the index) is a very early example of colour engraving printed by Gillot. Text in French.
