Diggens, St. Ann’s Lane, London), 1820, in-4to, frontispice (map) ‘Plan of the road’ + title + 4 leaves: ‘Preface, List of plates’ + 136 p. + 36 handcoloured aquatinta-plates. Untrimmed copy in an original publisher’s light-brown clothbound, spine richly gilt, covers blindstamped. Housed in a clothbox with green morocco-leather spine with gilt title and year 1820.‎


‎A perfect copy in bright colouring in which 2 new plates, here published for the first time, were added (compared with the 1811 ed. by Didot or the 1819 new ed. by Guillaume Haas): N° 35 View of Pliniana & N° 36 View of Milan. The plate n° 2 (of the 1811 ed.) has been cancelled.Very fine & rare early English edition in delightful colouring. Engraved map ‘Plan of the road of the Simplon’ bound as frontispice, signed H.
