---- EDITION ORIGINALE de la THESE d'agrégation, section médecine et médecine légale, présentée par E. BRISSAUD à la Faculté de médecine de Paris ---- TRES RARE ---- "Brissaud was a neurologist's neurologist. He grew up in the school of Charcot and Lasègue, wrote his thesis on the permanent contractures in hemiplegia, in which he showed that hemiplegia due to pontile lesions may occasionally be of the spasmodic type... His interest in neurology and neuropathology was early excited by his work at the Salpêtrière and both in the clinic and in the laboratory he toiled to cultivate the fields which Charcot planted. He described in detail the double innervation of the face, the dissociation between voluntary and mimetic expression and the analogy between the facies of pseudobulbar palsy and that of parkinsonism... He also described tics, spasms and torticollis... He founded, with Pierre Marie, the Revue neurologique...".
