(Willius & Key p. 444) ---- "Jean-Baptiste BOUILLAUD (1796-1881) was one of the ablest diagnosticians of his time. He was the first to point out that aphasia is correlated with a lesion of the anterior lobes of the brain and he established a "law of coincidence" between the occurence of heart disease and acture articular rheumatism. Among his many writings were works on encephalitis, cholera, the philosophy of clinical medicine, venous obstruction and dropsy, hermaphroditism, the diagnosis and therapy for cancer and the medical nosography".
