It also includes the works of Continental authors translated into english or published in Britain in their original language. The title of each book is given in a shortened form without indication of changes in style and size of type. The imprint is given in full for each item with a standard style for place of publication and all variant issues of an edition are listed. Except in special instances a simplified form of collation is used throughout. To ensure that the collation given is accurate, the author set out to examine at least two copies of each work.
