Bound in half green morocco, spine with 4 raised bands, gilt decorated with compartments & rullers , buckram boards, edges gilt (the original publisger's binding, partly slightly rubbed). Title printed in red and black. With about 350 text illustrations and 16 plates, all wood-engravings.

Apart from some slight scattered foxing, a very good copy of a very charmingly illustrated Buffon for children.
