Louis de Wecker was one of the greatest French ophthalmologists of his time. "He made significant contributions to the advancement of ophthalmology by introducing the ophthalmoscope, developing new surgical techniques, and inventing new instruments for operative surgery" (heirs of Hippocrates, 1977).--(Scattered foxing, especially in the fist 25 and last 20 pages; stamp of former owner on half-title).
