2 vol. 8vo oblong (160 x 200 mm), each containing 12 watercolors on sheets of murier paper mounted on rice paper and framed in blue paper (some breaks and discreet restorations). Chinese acordeon binding, vegetal cardboard boards covered with geometrically patterned dominoté paper. (Wear and tear). Very fine albums featuring 24 watercolors on mulberry pulp, devoted to the cultivation and preparation of tea and the people of China. This Chinese technique uses the inside of the burl, a material spread out in sheet form, giving unequalled relief and vividness to the colors applied to its surface. However, this "paper" is extremely fragile and few of these drawings have stood the test of time. The first album is entirely devoted to the cultivation, harvesting and preparation of tea. The second presents male and female characters from different social strata. The watercolors are particularly meticulous and the colors fresh. The set is preserved in its original binding, with boards made from laminated plant leaves and covered with stenciled paper. A fine example of refined Chinese art.‎
