L'offrande de Madame la Baronne Burdett-Coutts 1877’, library stamp on title, reliure en d.-cuir aux coins, dos orné or, tête doré. / brown half calf on raised bands and with corners decorated with gilt lining, slight rubbing, gilt edges. Very fine copy.
An attractive copy of this scarce book on the microscope and microscopy. A description of microscopes "Technique du microscope" (p. 1-194) is followed by sections on applications to human histology, to botany, and to zoology. Bracegridle p. 49.
