//// This manuscript is written in a beautiful round handwriting, very legible, obviously by a professional copyist of the 18th century. Henri de Boulainvilliers, who consulted more than two hundred books to write his treatise, took over the title and the order of Auger Ferrier's astrology manual of 1550, while taking into account the new place assigned to the sun, at the center of the planets. The manuscript ends with a partial translation of the "Petit Ptolomée, par Argole", probably the "Ptolomaeus parvus in genethliacis junctus Arabibus", by Andea Argoli (1652). The Count de Boulainvilliers (1658-1722) left a quantity of manuscripts, because he did not care much about publishing his works; he willingly let his friends take copies. He is famous for his historical researches, which led him to declare that the feudal system is the masterpiece of the human mind. He is also credited with atheistic and anti-religious texts. This one, on astrology, written in 1717, circulated in manuscript form for over two centuries. It was only published in 1947! There seem to be only three copies of this manuscript in public libraries (2 in the BN and one in the BM of Angoulème). Hinges cracked, lack of the upper cap. A good copy, very fresh inside. /// PLUS DE PHOTOS SUR WWW.LATUDE.NET‎
