‎Reconditorium ac reclusorium opulentiae sapientiaeque numinis mundi magni, cui deditur in titulum Chymica vannus.‎

‎Amsterdam, Joannem Janssonium a Wasberge & Elizeum Weyerstraet, 1666.‎

Reference : 17623

Duveen 498. Caillet 11060. Ferguson 2, 246. Guaita 891. Discrètes restaurations aux charnières. /// In-4 de 392, (2), 76, (2) pp. Veau brun, dos à nerfs muet. (Reliure de l'époque.) //// First edition. "Very mysterious work of alchemy and mystical philosophy published in May 1666 by the Brothers of the Rose Cross; it is singular in text and figure and is hardly found in bookshops. The supplement "Commentatio de pharmaco catholico", seems rarer than the work itself. It is missing in a certain number of copies that I examined". (Stanislas de Guaita). The work is also described at length by Caillet who attributes it to Thomas Vaughan. The second part is attributed with certainty to Johannes de Monte-Snyder. Duveen attributes the whole work to the latter, while Ferguson does not comment. Illustrated with a symbolic frontispiece printed in brown ink, an engraved symbolic diagram and 10 beautiful etchings. 17 pages oddly composed of texts surrounded by circles. The "Commentatio de pharmaco catholico" has its own title page with the same frontispiece on the reverse as at the beginning of the first text. Jouin-Decreux 363: "A work which has become unobtainable and which contains the entire secret doctrine of the Rosicrucians." Duveen 498. Caillet 11060. Ferguson 2, 246. Guaita 891. Discrete restorations to the hinges. /// PLUS DE PHOTOS SUR WWW.LATUDE.NET‎
