First edition of this importent account of Schmidt's excavations in Schwitzerland, mainly finds in the former Roman settlements, the towns of Aventicum (colonized under Vespasian) and Culm. - ""Un des meilleurs ouvrages qu'on eut publiés jusqu'alors sur les antiquitees de la Suisse."" (Brunet V:210). The works was reprinted in 1771 under a slightly different title.
