Vergine nella patriarcale Basilica Liberiana. Rome, Contedini, 1849. In-8, 76-[1]p. Edition originale, sur beau papier filigrané Pietro Miliani à Fabriano, de cet ouvrage italien décrivant la chapelle Pauline ou chapelle Borghese de la Basilique Sainte-Marie-Majeure de Rome. Cette chapelle fut construite sur demande du pape Paul V, un Borghese, où il est enterré. La princesse Pauline Bonaparte, devenue Borghese, y est aussi enterré. Exemplaire enrichi d'une dédicace collée en garde : « Le très humble aucteur a l'honneur d'envoier à Vôtre Excellence son petit travail. Pour vous servir. L'Abbé Louis Portelli ». Il nous semble que cette dédicace s'adresse au dédicataire du livre, Marco Antonio Borghèse (1814-1886), 8e prince de Sulmona. Ouvrage dont nous ne trouvons la trace que dans cinq institutions (Pontificia Universita Gregoriana (Rome), Bibliotheca Hertziana (Rome), Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz, Université de Leipzig et Bibliothèque Werner Oechslin à Einsiedeln) Reliure italienne, pleine basane maroquinée rouge, dos lisse orné sans titre, plats très décorés, roulette en bordure des contreplats, gardes moirées, tranches dorées. Frottements sur les coupes, coins et mors. Très bel exemplaire, ouvrage rare. ‎
