A richly illustrated volume on the works of the renowned and innovative artistic duo, William Brand and Annet van Egmond. Glorious color photographs showcase unforgettable designs. Lighting Sculptures provides an overview of the stunning lighting creations designed by William Brand and his wife Annet van Egmond, known collectively as Brand van Egmond. The book sheds light on the design process and offers an insight into the way the company's 'sculptures' have developed, how they work and what inspires the team creatively. The designs of Brand van Egmond can be found all over the globe - from the private houses of such celebrities as Kanye West and Beyonce Knowles and the boutiques of fashion designer Marlies Dekkers, to the lobby of Jamie Oliver's restaurant Fifteen in Amsterdam and the Hilton hotel in Paris. William Brand (1963) and Annet van Egmond (1964) graduated at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Utrecht the Netherlands, where he was trained as an architect and she as a sculptor. They have been working as independent product designers for 20 years. William and Annet founded of Brand van Egmond in 1993 with the sole intention to create art without restraints. This has led to a design studio that has become an international trendsetter creating innovative, independent designs. The lighting sculptures radiate passion and emotion and leave a long-lasting impression. Together William and Annet are responsible for the concept, design, and art-direction of the brand.
