Tirage limité à 525 exemplaires numérotés à la main (520 et 124/525). Rare. Il s'agit des deux premiers volumes, entièrement consacrés à Johnston (1579-1641), d'une publication de poètes néo-latins écossais qui se poursuivra en 1910 avec la parution des Poetae minores.Fondé en 1886 à Aberdeen, le New Spalding club, société érudite écossaise nommée d'après l'antiquaire du XVIIe siècle John Spalding, publia, de 1892 à 1924, 52 volumes de textes relatifs à la région d'Aberdeen.Quant à l'universitaire William Duguid Geddes (1828-1900), ce fut le grand promoteur de l'hellénisme au sein de l'Université d'Aberdeen.Au CCF, exemplaires seulement à Nancy. - - VENTE PAR CORRESPONDANCE UNIQUEMENT

Petites salissures blanches sur les deux plats.
La première édition de cette belle version illustrée fut donnée en 1863 par Blackwood (mais l'originale du texte remonte à 1848, "printemps des peuples").
