St. Gallen, Huber, (1828-)1829, in-8°, insges. 2 Bl. (mit 1 Vignette) + VIII + 416 S. + 46 s/w Taf. (von 52, Taf. 30, 38, 41 u. 50 fehlen) u. 6 kolor. lithogr. Tafeln, runder Besitzstempel auf Verso-Titel ‘ad Bibl. Univ. Monac.’, rosa Original-Broschüre (1 Orig.-Umschlag fehlt).
Scheitlin war 1805-1833 Prof. an der höheren Lehranstalt in St. Gallen u. damals einer der bedeutendsten Männer St. Gallens. Bernet (1801-1851) war sein Schüler.Die Tafeln zeigen Darstellungen aus dem altenƒ Ägypten, u.a. ein hübsch kol. Karte, Pyramiden, Obelisken / Assyrien, Babylon, Phönikien, Karthago, Syrien, Medien, Kleinasien und Hellas mit kol.
