The lasting effect of Italy and Neo-classicism on Stubbs is the focus of this exhibition. It assembles numerous paintings, etchings, drawings, sculptures and the occasional enamel on copper piece, which reflect Stubb's Italian influence and emphasise his connection with the work of the Neoclassical artists, Wedgewood, Adam and Boulton, who incorporated his work into theirs. An appendix transcribes Ozias Humphrey's 'Memoir of George Stubbs' (1797) and an obituary (1806). With a select bibliography.
