Volume 23 of a beautifully-produced large format series showing the highly-important Chinese ceramics collection of the Gugong Museum in Beijing. An in-depth and representative survey. This volume is Part 3 of an as yet unspecified number showing ceramics produced during the early Qing dynasty reigns of the Shunzhi and Kangxi emperors. Comprises 200 marvellous monochromes produced during these two reigns. Six are from the Shunzhi reign, the remaining 194 are all Kangxi period! Comparison with the volume on Ming and Qing monochromes in the 'Complete Collection of Treasures in the Palace Museum' (Gugong Zhencang) series (until now the most comprehensive coverage of such ceramics in the Gugong collection) shows no Shunzhi examples and 'only' 44 Kangxi pieces. All the ceramics are here illustrated in full page colour plates and with some pieces also shown in close-up detail, mostly bases and base marks. Many superb objects with numerous examples from the Qing imperial collection. Much unpublished material. The smaller objects are shown life-size, the larger ones life-size or near life-size. This allows true and full appreciation of these marvellous objects. Dual texts in Chinese and English, including list of plates and captions to plates. Text in Chinese.

Taichung, Taiwan: National Palace Museum and National Central Museum, 1959. 1959 Complet en 6 volumes in-folio, relié dans le style chinois, avec des couvertures en soie modelées d'après un ancien dessin Song de Khe-Ssu tapisserie chinoise ; sous deux portfolios originaux en tissu bleu avec fermoirs ivoire un défectueux et lettrage noir sur étiquette de couverture en papier crème, pages de garde en soie, 300 planches en noir et couleur dont 46 hors-texte en couleur. Description de chaque planche en chinois et en anglais sur feuillet opposé ou sur la garde de tissu d'accompagnement. Papier japonais spécial fait main. Plus de 140 pièces proviennent de la main d'artistes des Tang, des Cinq Dynasties et des Song, parmi lesquels Yen Li-pen, Li Su-hsun, Li Chao-tao, Lu Hung Tang, Li Tsan-hua, Ching Hao, Kuan Tung, L Po, Tung Yüan Cinq Dynasties, Li Cheng, Fan Kuan, Hui Ch'ung, Ch'i Hsu et Yen Wen-kuei, entre autres. Plus de 60 chefs-d'œuvre sont attribués à des artistes de la période Yüan, dont Kao Ke-kung, Chao Meng-fu et Huang Kung-wang, entre autres. Les artistes Ming et les premiers Ching sont représentés par quatre-vingt-quatre tableaux. La sélection représente largement des paysages, des figures humaines, des natures mortes et des peintures architecturales, et les extraordinaires reproductions en couleurs sont pour la plupart reproduites ici pour la première fois. Le texte en chinois et en anglais comprend des commentaires critiques et biographiques, notamment des remarques sur le style et les caractéristiques des artistes ainsi que des informations détaillées sur la taille et le contenu des peintures, la signature de l'artiste, les inscriptions et les sceaux de l'artiste et des collectionneurs.
