L'opera è ben illustrata da 60 (su 61) tavv. inc. f.t. che raffigurano: ritratti degli A., frontespizi, vedute, pesci, scene di vita, etc. Celebre opera più volte stampata, suddivisa in due parti: la prima contiene "a discourse of rivers fish-ponds, fish and fishing written by Izaak Walton; la seconda, scritta da Cotton, contiene instructions how to angle for a trout or grayling in a clear stream.
