The Hermitage and Cartier collaborated on the extensive Cartier exhibition at the Winter Palace in 1992. Cartier also contributed on a unique jewelry restoration project from the State Hermitage Museum's Treasure Gallery. Cartier acted as a patron of the Precious Metals Restoration Laboratory and associated its name with such masterpieces as Alexander II's field marshal's baton, Hedwig Jagiellon's casket, an incense burner from the Mughal treasury, a clock cabinet by the Augsburg master Johann Revers, and an Egyptian crystal lamp with Mannerist figurines.
