W. & R. Chambers, Edinburgh 1856. 12 vol. in -12o, around 350 pp. each, portrait of W. S. and full page wood engraving on each title, many headings and vignettes. Contemporary 1/3 sheep and cloth binding slightly worn, guilt title and ornements on the back, four raised bands. First edition of Chamber's Shakespeare after the Knight's Cabinet one (1843). William (1800-1883, politician) and Robert Chambers of Glenormiston were prominent scottish editors of the XIXth century.
