Les 10 planches gravées qui illustrent normalement lédition sont ici manquantes et son illustration se limite de fait à quelques insignifiantes vignettes in-texto. Reliure anglaise de lépoque en plein veau granité, plats orné de compartiments à froid, dos à nerfs (renouvelé). Réémission de lédition de 1709 avec une nouvelle page de titre, effectuée sans lautorisation de lauteur. ‎Fils dun pasteur rochellais chassé de France par la révocation de lédit de Nantes, Jean-Théophile Désaguliers (1683-1744) fut ministre de lEglise dAngleterre et plus tard chapelain du prince de Galles, physicien, ingénieur, enseignant à Oxford, principal collaborateur de Newton, et reste connu comme lun des piliers de la franc-maçonnerie anglaise naissante. ‎
