‎Vol. 1) First illustrated edition. In fact this is a revised and enlarged edition of Coxe’s earlier publication of the letters, with engraved figures and maps added. The first volume contains 37 letters, in which the British historian William Coxe is reporting on the most interesting sites, and their cantons, including travel experiences as well as valuable geographical (glaciers, lakes, rivers, etc.), political and historical facts (foreign service, battles, international relations, etc.), on the following itinerary: Schaffhausen, Constance, St. Gallen, Appenzell, Glarus, Einsiedeln, Zürich, Bridge of Wettingen (with engr. plate of its elevation), Basel, Bienne, Soleure, Zug, Lucerne, Unterwalden, Gothard, Furca, Grimsel, Scheidegg, Staubbach, Lake of Thun and Brientz (with engraved plate), Lenk, Son, Martigny, Mont Blanc, the Valley of Ice, etc.. / Vol. 2 & 3: The rare 4th edition with the suppl. historical notes on the revolution.
