---- EDITION ORIGINALE ---- BON EXEMPLAIRE ---- "E.J. GEORGET, (1795/1828), who died so young but who in his very short life proved to be a prodigal worker and an ardent scholar. In quality and quantity his contributions compare favorably with the work of Esquirol and with that of Ferrus. He submitted his doctor's thesis, Dissertation sur les causes de la folie, in 1820. How mature his thought was at the age of twenty-five one may judge from the fact that he published his masterwork De la folie in the same year. His orientation was organic but his clinical descriptions were masterpieces... To Georget mental illness was apparently one idiopathic brain disease with a great variety of manifestations which were, however, not separate diseases. In this formulation he was one of the earliest psychiatrist to believe in the unity of all mental diseases as representing different stages of one process".
