Restored binding with the original spine lacking on the top and bottom. Marroon free endpapers. Drawing of the Falls of Itamaraty as frontispice. No errata leaf. 32 pp. of the editor's list of works from 1866 added at the end of the book. One folding map and five illustrations throughout the book. The author was a founder and president of the Alpine Club. Moreas I, 340: 'The author, a British tourist, first visited Rio on the way to Buenos Aires.
