The publication was published in Tiflis from 1868 to 1881 there were 10 issues in total. The preface to the first issue stated that The edition is dedicated to a comprehensive study of the life of a population of almost a million living under unique and heterogeneous terrain conditions and although designated by a common name - the mountaineers it is nevertheless very diverse in character diverse in customs and multi-lingual.
