"7. Antwerpen, apud Ioannem Galleum, 1670 ( engraved mounted title page) ; Apud Gerardium Wolschatium, 1631 ( typographical title), 75 (for 85) pp + 25 engravings. ( of which 2 included in the pagination). Bound in contemporary vellum with traces of ties. Marbled endppaers, edges painted red.tipped on the second fly leaf : an engraving by I. Galle representing Stigmata Domini Jesu. Extremely rare tri-lingual hagiography of Saint Francis with emblematical full page engravings. The STCV lists two copies of this work, both incomplete ( at the Ruusbroecgenootschap). These copies have preliminary leaves which are absent in our copy. This curious publication has two titles (separated by 39 year ! ). Most probably van Wolschate remained with an unsold stock of poorly illustrated copies which were taken over by Galle who embellished the edition with 23 emblematical engravings. The original edition would have had only 2 illustrations."
