"14. Hamburg, Verlag von Robert Kittler, s.d. (ca. 1840), steel engraving with a contemporary gouache colouring (gouachierte und eiweissgehöhter Stahlstich). Platesize 19,5 x 26,5 cm, papersize 30 x 43 cm, contains 10 small views of Hamburg arranged around a central view 'Hamburg vom Hafen'. Clockwise from upperleft; Borse, Alster-Arkaden, Hotel de L'Europe, Wall Halle, Ton Halle, Stadt Theater, Alter Jungfernstieg, Post Gebaude, Sankt Michaelis Kirche, Windmühle. An attractive print of very fine quality. The print has been tipped-on to a blue contemporary leaf, there are some brown glue spots shining through but these are marginal and far away from the engraving."
