The plates give the decorative details of the new polychromatic decoration of the 29 chapels of the Notre-Dame church restored by Viollet-le-Duc from the 1850s onwards. M. Ouradou was, as Inspector of the Works, responsible for the drawings. The chromoplates were printed by Lemercier & Cie. in Paris..‎

‎"16. Paris, Veuve A.Morel, 1876*, in-folio, 44,5 x 33,5 cm, (4)nn pp + 25 pp + 62 chromolithographic plates (numbered A, B, I-LX). Bound in contemporary half leather, with marbled boards, raised decorated spine with two labels. Binding with wear at extremities, joints weak and partly broken, but binding technically still sound. Interior fine without staining or foxing. Title plate indicates 1876. The plates were published in installments. The complete set was first issued with a separate title page in 1870. The plates give the decorative details of the new polychromatic decoration of the 29 chapels of the Notre-Dame church restored by Viollet-le-Duc from the 1850s onwards. M. Ouradou was, as Inspector of the Works, responsible for the drawings. The very fine chromolithographic were printed by Lemercier & Cie. in Paris ( ''They surpassed all other printers in the execution of in-folio decorative chromolithographic plates '' - Twyman ; History of Chromolithography pp. 230).."‎
