Henri Hymans (Antwerp 1836 - Brussels 1912) was the foremost art historian and art critic of his time and ended his career as curator of the Royal Library in Brussels. A dictionary of over 700 biographical entries on Flemish art (most of them edited in Thieme Becker to which he contributed). A huge collection (over 1000 pages) of his articles in the Parisian ''Gazette des Beaux-Arts'' to which he contributed for over 25 years.
