Relié en demi-chagrin noir à coins, couverture original conservée (couverture uivant un dessin de Wolfers). Bel exemplaire. Brialmont, surnommé le Vauban belge, était l'ingénieur responsable pour les fortifications d'Anvers (en 1865). Autres projets de lui sont Bukarest, Spohia, les Dardanelles en Turkey, un projet pour Constantinople. L'ouvrage contient également une évaluation du sort des fortifications pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, ainsi que'une .bibliographie. Avec un ex-dono de l'auteur.
