Antverpiae (Antwerpen), Joannes Baptista Verdussen, 1740, sm. in-8°, 416 pp, 45 copper engravings, Bound in full brown morocco, with blind-tooled covers and spine, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers. The binding is signed by A. Despierres rel. de l'Empereur (bookbinder of Napoleon III). 18th century edition of this very popular emblematical work of poetry. The engravings are by Boetius à Bolswert. The first edition was from 1624. Nicely preserved copy in an interesting binding.
