‎Livre D'Heures selon le Rit Romain. (French 19th c. Roman Catholic devotional book in a very fine contemporary signed binding).‎

‎" Tours, Mâme, 1855, format in-8° (140 x 90 mm), (8)nn pp (title, chromolithographic title, original portrait photograph of the Holy Mary) + 608 pp + 4 chromolithographs + 4 steel-engravings. ( complete). Binding: a signed binding of Petit (rue Larrey nr. 1), Full brown morocco, both covers with deep recess decoration (lillies). Corners and top and end of spine bordered with silver plated strips. With two silver plated clasps in the form of a lilly. Endpapers in brown coloured real silk. All edges gilt and with intricate ciselling work (floral spirals). Stunning binding in perfect condition. Especially the ciselling work is of the finest quality; the book block appears as a solid block of gold.. Allthough French 19th c. devotional books are quite common; a copy like this one, in a elaborate signed master binding , in perfect condition is very rare.."‎
