" Amberes ( Antwerpen ) , En Casa de Pedro y Iuan Bellero, M.DC.XXV ( 1625 ), in-4°, 23 x 17,5 cm, engraved title page + 579 pp + (3)nn pp (2 blank, and errata). Leaf 334-335 is in duplicate ( the original; and slightly different imprint). Bound in contemporary vellum. Paper label with manuscript title on spine, edges painted blue. . Binding with some wear, title page cut short on the outer margin, but still reveiling the plate border. Some pages evely browned. Still a good copy. With an old rubber oval cancellation stamp on the title page. With an unidentified printed armorial ex-libris on the first paste down. Carlos Coloma arrived in the Netherlands in 1588. He was actively involved in the ''Eighty Years War''. He became also governor of Cambrai, participated at the siege of Breda with Spinola. He was married to a Flemish noble women : Margriet van Gaver-Liedekerke. Longtime this 1625 edition was considered to be the first ( see Palau 56928 ). Recent research discovered that this is in fact the fourth edition. The first was anonymously printed ; the second by Jean de la Rivière in Cambrai (1622). This edition is extremely rare ( actually only 2 copies known). There exists also an Antwerp edition from 1624 by Pedro & Juan Bellero ( also rare )."
