19. Paris, different printers and publishers, 1649, format in-4°, 21 x 17 cm, collection of 55 titles bound in one contemporary vellum binding. The binding is severely damaged, part of the spine is gone, also a part of the upper cover. The outer margins of the first and last leaves (containing the manuscript table) are a bit frayed . Some leaves are damp-stained at the outer margin, a small worm gallery, not affecting the text in the lower margin of some pages. Notwithstanding these defects (which mainly pertain to the binding), still a good and acceptable item. The pages of the collection have been numbered in ink in a contemporary hand ( pp. 1 - 500). The imprints are preceded by a manuscript ''table alphabétique''. At the end is also bound in the same ''table'' in an old but more recent hand. On the second fly-leaf is a contemporary notice saying that this is the second volume of a collection. This second part was started on january 6th 1649 - the day when Mazarin and King Louis XIV fled from Paris. ( In the note this is called '' L'enlevement du 6 janvier''). On january 30th 1649 king Charles Ist was decapitated in London. This event had a large influence on the ''Guerre de la Fronde'' which really started with the flight from Paris. Several imprints in this volume relate to Charles' death. We have two photographs of the typescript index of the 55 items. These can be received upon an e-mail request..
