.: 18. Parma, dalla Stamperia Reale ( Bodoni ), 1786, in-4°, 24 x 17 cm, xvi pp + 268 pp, bound in contemporary half roan, with boards covered with marbled paper, smooth spine with gilt lettering. Joints slightly rubbed and with a neat minor restoration at corners, some staining in the bottom margin of the last 2 leaves, small early signature on the title, but overall a very good fresh copy. Allthough the prize was actually won by Quatremère de Quicy, his winning essay was not published until 1803. So this essay by the Jesuit scholar from Parma university became the first published. In it Belgrado discusses the relationship between Egyptian and Greek architecture and the relative dating of Egyptian buildings and of the Temple of Solomon.
