Guillaume Wets, general manager of the ''Maison de Commerce de Bruges '' disputes certain import duties he has to pay.. Provenance; from the archives of Charles de Proli ; added is a photostat of a typed letter from 23 May 1945 which refers to Theophile Smekens who was still occupied with Proli's bancruptcy in the late 19th c. ( see Denucé, Antwerps Archievenblad 2e reeks, 7 , 1932 nr.1). On this history of Proli's business initiatives see at length '' Charles Proli , Antwerps zakenman en bankier 1723 - 1786.'' Study by H. We have other archive records relating to Charles Proli and the ''Société Impériale de Trieste pour le commerce Aziatique'' on offer.
