"2. Antwerpen, april 28th 1767, manuscript on paper, written in ink, in-folio, 4 pp , written in French, very neat handwriting. Manuscript insurance policy, dated febr. 5th 1767, drawn up in Cadiz for two ships of the Compagnie suédoise des Indes orientales sailing for Canton. This copy was supplemented in Antwerp and signed by Pietro Proli (!) on april 28th 1767. Also signed by the widow Adrien Vleeshouwer who participated in the financing. The ships '' Adolphe Frédéric '' with captain Livino Olbers and the '' Louise Ubrique '' with captain Mathias Olmer are leaving Cadiz for Canton to return to Göteborg. Dewulf, Ghijselen, Morel & Cie insure this undertaking for an amount of 30400 guilder. (18th c. insurance policy for two ships of the Swedish East India Company participating in the China trade. Provenance; from the archives of Charles de Proli ; photostat of a typed letter from 23 May 1945 refers to Theophile Smekens who was still occupied with Proli's bancruptcy in the late 19th c.
