In this letter signed by the directors of the Société Impériale de Trieste pour le commerce Aziatique; they officially declare that it is their intent to divert the five ships of the company due to arrive from China and destined for the port of Hamburg to the port of Ostend. The reason given is the dangerous pre-war situation along the Dutch coast. Provenace; from the archives of Charles de Proli ; photostat of a typed letter from 23 May 1945 refers to Theophile Smekens who was still occupied with Proli's bancruptcy in the late 19th c.
