‎Original manuscript letter from the Société Impériale de Trieste pour le commerce Aziatique dated 14th May 1784. With the original holograph signatures of Charles Proli , le Baron de Borrekens and Henry Vander Ven (?).‎

‎".: 2. S.l. (Antwerpen), manuscript on paper, written in ink, dated 14th may 1784, in-folio, 4 pp ( one with text), written in French, very neat handwriting. In this letter signed by the directors of the Société Impériale de Trieste pour le commerce Aziatique; they officially declare that it is their intent to divert the five ships of the company due to arrive from China and destined for the port of Hamburg to the port of Ostend. The reason given is the dangerous pre-war situation along the Dutch coast. Provenace; from the archives of Charles de Proli ; photostat of a typed letter from 23 May 1945 refers to Theophile Smekens who was still occupied with Proli's bancruptcy in the late 19th c.
