Binding with worn extremeties, top of spine missing (ca. 6 cm). Interior with some slight foxing but still a good copy of the original edition. Champollion-Figeac discusses Indoeuropean, alphabets, Latin inscriptions, and finally the older text samples in this generously presented work. Champollion lovingly describes each plate in detail and fills in the background..
