With an unidentified manuscript ex-dono inscription on the first fly leaf '' to my friend Monsieur Baertsoen...( unsigned)''. Fine copy notwithstanding some sporadic minor foxing or dustsoiling. Rare catalogue of the British participation at the last great World Exhibition to be organised before the First World War. It was the first exhibition where British art was represented by the Arts and Crafts Movement. The catalogue contains a 7 pp preface by the now 78 years old Commendatore Walter Crane which in way can be considered as a sort of artistic testament. Other contributors are Anning Bell on sculpture and mural painting , Douglas Cockerell on bookbinding, Walter Crane on book illustration , Alfred Powell on pottery , W.A.S. Benson on furniture ...etc. The catalogue is entirely bi-lingual ; French and English."
