(after 1926), oblong album in-folio, 23,5 x 38 cm, (6) nn pp (title) + (24) nn textleaves + 12 plates with photo illustrations (printed on recto side only). Kept in a modern grey clothed album bound with silk ties, some of the original album lettering (printed on thick board) has been retained and tipped on to the front cover. Title page with some library marking of a Czech institute. Rare publicty album covering the development and successes of the Czech aircraft company AVIA. Their first airplane Avia B.H.1 designed by Paul Benes and Miroslav Hajn had its maiden flight on 13th October 1920 in Prague. In 1926 an Avia airplane gained the Coppa d'Italia. The company is still active as a manufacturer of propellors. In 1992 it merged with Hamilton Standard Aviation Ltd. In 1999 the company's name became Avia Propellor under the ownership of Gerd Mühlbauer.
