Bound in publisher's red half leather with richly decorated front cover with gilt and silver ornaments. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Kept in modern red half leather box with gilt lettering on spine and front ( made by Newbold & Collins, Sydney). Some very slight foxing at some pages (mostly at the serpents). The binding with some traces of use, wear at the extremeties. In all still an attractive copy in its original binding. This is the complete volume (on Batavia) in a series of 4 published on the Dutch East-Indies ( Neerlandsch Indië).
