" Paris, chez l'Auteur, F.A. David, 1787, 4 vols in-8°, vols 1-3 are uniformly bound in full mottled calf, gilt fillets on both covers, tow labels on the decorated smooth spines, marbled endpapers, English binding with the engraved ex-libris tipped on to the first paste-down of George John Earl de la Warr. These three volumes are in fine condition. The fourth volume has no binding, halftitle and title are dustsoiled and with two dark spots, a bit scruffy throughout, last pages (table and approbatio) are torn and with a small loss of paper (some text loss at the approbatio). Each of the four volumes complete with the handcoloured plates (Vol.I , 73 plates) ; (Vol.I I, 72 plates) ; (Vol. III , 72 plates ) ; (Vol. IV 72 plates) and the handcoloured frontispieces. This is the second edition of the description of the famous collection of W. Hamilton, unfortunately incomplete, lacking the last volume and with the fourth volume without a binding. Text in French.
